How I Safely Expose Copyparty to the Internet (Unraid + Nginx Proxy Manager)
If you followed the first video, you now have Copyparty running on Unraid for fast, simple file sharing on your local network.
In this video, I’ll show you how I safely expose Copyparty to the internet using Nginx Proxy Manager — without directly port forwarding the container or leaving your server wide open.
We’ll cover:
• Creating a reverse proxy in Nginx Proxy Manager
• Adding SSL with Let’s Encrypt
• Using Access Lists for an extra layer of protection
• Basic hardening tips like upload size limits and safe DNS setup
This setup keeps Copyparty internal while Nginx Proxy Manager handles HTTPS and external access — a much safer and more flexible approach.
Whether you’re using Cloudflare, Namecheap, or another DNS provider, the process is the same. The goal is simple: secure remote access without unnecessary risk.
If you want remote file access on Unraid without turning your homelab into a security liability, this is the right way to do it.
